У цьому виданні представлено добірку з 15 проповідей Стефана Яворського (1658–1722), українського поета і проповідника кінця XVII століття. Його уява, знання та риторичні здібності зробили його одним із провідних європейських письменників свого часу. З політичних причин його проповіді понад 300 років залишалися в рукописному вигляді. Редактори ретельно переписали українські тексти та додали до них коментарі англійською мовою. Видання робить твори Яворського доступними для науковців, які бажають розширити свої знання про невідому частину ранньомодерної європейської літератури.
